Exit Pilot ("we", "us") provides AI-assisted business valuation and exit-preparation software at sellmycompany.com. This Privacy Policy describes what we collect, why, how we store it, and the rights you have over your data.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: email, name, password hash, referral code, payment IDs.
- Business intake data: the company information you provide during the 9-step intake (financials, customers, operations, team, technology).
- Scraped public data: publicly available information from URLs you submit.
- Generated artifacts: reports, CIMs, teasers, and PDFs we produce on your behalf, plus any NDA signatures collected through our flow.
- Usage telemetry: page views, calculator interactions, and audit-log events (e.g., report downloaded, NDA sent).
2. How we use information
- To deliver the valuation, CIM, and other artifacts you purchased.
- To operate, secure, and improve the platform.
- To process payments and prevent fraud through our payment processor.
- To send transactional email (receipts, password resets, NDA notifications).
- To produce aggregated, de-identified industry benchmarks. We never expose your individual financials in benchmarks.
3. AI processing
Narrative sections of your reports are generated by large language models. Inputs are sent to model providers solely to fulfill your request. We do not use your business data to train third-party models, and we do not authorize providers to retain it for that purpose.
4. Sharing
We share data only with: (a) infrastructure subprocessors (hosting, database, email, payments, AI providers) under contract; (b) parties you explicitly authorize through our NDA-gated buyer flow; and (c) authorities when required by law.
5. Storage & security
Data is stored in encrypted-at-rest databases with row-level security so users only access their own records. PDFs are stored in object storage with signed, time-limited URLs. We retain records while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet legal and tax obligations.
6. Your rights
From your account settings you can update your profile, change your password, download a complete export of every record we hold about you (profile, companies, financials, reports, NDAs, credits, tickets, and activity log), and permanently delete your account. 7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) only load after you accept them via the cookie banner shown on first visit; you can change your choice at any time by clearing site data in your browser. Declining analytics does not affect any product functionality.
